Thank you Noel

I would like to say thank you for this awesome journey. I have had such a blast.
I would like to also say thanks to the rest of the design team for such great inspiration.

Again thank you

My New Do

I dedcided I would break out the Love, Elsie stuff and cut it up. I mean it's not like I can hold on to it forever. Am i the only one who will hoard stuff like you will never be able to buy it again? Just wondering...I am bad about that...I would like to know if I am alone.....anyway...this is my latest

Go ahead and pout then...

I used the Daisy Ds Salt Water Taffy line for this layout. I love the way these papers look with black & white pictures :) I also used Daisy D flower stickers and Heidi Swapp journaling spots. The title is American Craft & Provo Craft stickers and my dymo labler.

Rhiannon & Kaitlyn

For this layout I used the Daisy D's Salt Water Taffy line. I used thickers for the title and outlined them with a white uniball signo pen to make them stand out better against the dark background of her picture. The heart sticker is Daisy D's as well and the flower is Heidi Swapp, whick I inked with black color box chalk ink. I also sanded the edges of her pictures for a more distressed look.

I also used Daisy D's Salt Water Taffy line for this layout. The scroll matches the orange paper in real life... the colors scanned a little off. I outlined the patterned paper with a black sharpie to make it stand out more and sanded the edges of the pictures. The title is American Craft thickers and the scroll is Basic Grey chipboard.

Sisters

For this layout I used Prima papers and die cut photo corners. I love the way all these papers co-ordinate!

Touching up light stamps

So how many times has this happened to you? You are finishing up a layout and your last step is to place a stamp on a corner or edge. When you lift your stamp part of it has not inked dark enough and now you feel like you LO is not quite perfect. Well, I have found a super quick and easy fix for that problem! It's called Pen Nibs!!

Just dip the tip of your per nib in your matching ink so it is nice and covered.

Then you can use the fine tip of the nib like a pen to carefully fill in the area of your stamped image. Voila...you are fixed up and your stamp looks just how you envisioned! It was a total fluke that I bought these. They sat in my drawer for a good 6 months until I remembered them, and figured out that is what they were for, and now I love these little guys!

Sugar Spice & Everything Nice

I used the Salt Water Taffy line from Daisy D's for this LO of my niece. Other products used: Bazzill cardstock, Heidi Swapp flower, dymo labler, cricut alphalicious font, stampin' up white craft ink & a white uniball signo pen. I inked the flower & the borders of the LO with the craft ink and distressed the title letters with the white pen.

The one with no title

I kept trying to add a word or journaling to this but then decided I liked it alone, kind of just framed. I used the Tres Jolie "Oui Oui" paper line. Then I inked the edges with the lil' davis stamps which I then embellished with some small primas and finished with 7 gypsies gems in the centers.

If you have rubber stamps that you have cut and trim and positioned on the blocks and realized it was a little bit off here is a quick tip

PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE FOR APPX 10 SECONDS. IT WILL PULL OFF LIKE A CHARM AND YOU CAN REPOSITION IT

Sweet beautiful girl

My sweet beautiful niece. She was eating strawberries here, love how her little lips look so red.

She cracks me up

This is a fun LO of my sister-in-law for our Las Vegas album. I used the Prima Petal Poetry collection for this. I sanded around the pictures to make them stand out more and inked around the patterned paper & title. For the center of the flower I used a prima rubon then used a circle punch to cut it out. Other products used: cricut alphalicious font, heidi swapp flower, journaling spot & chipboard letters, & an american crafts arrow.

Distressing

Distressing is a technique that adds alot of character to your layouts. You can achieve this look by sanding or inking. Sanding creates the distressed look of wear. You can use sanding blocks or sandpapaer. You can sand: paper, pictures, chipboard, stickers, metal or cardstock.
Gently sand your paper/picture where you want distressed. Keep sanding until you have achieved the look you want. It is a little messy you will have residue, just wipe away.
My favorite is inking. I inked most of my layouts, there is just something I love about it. Must be that you can tell where one pattern paper ends and begins. Or just that it gives it a very bold look. Well whatever it is, I know I am not going to stop inking.
Inking is so easy to do. Take the ink pad and rub it around the edge of your paper . Use as much or as little as you want.

cards

Had fun making these cards. Used 3 different collection packs from Prima. Pattern papers by Prima Stone Rose collection, flowers also by prima, stamp by Heidi Swapp, stickles and paint dabbers by ranger.
Pattern papers from the Prima Eire collection, flowers by American Craft, buttons by SEI and ribbon by Lil Davis.

Pattern papers by Prima Petal Poetry collection, flowers & stamp by Heidi Swapp, brads by Happy Hammer and stickles by ranger (used to highlight dots in the pattern paper).
Used cardstock on all by bazzill.

she & happy bebe

An older pic of my youngest daughter. Here she is modeling for me a dress that was hand down by her older sister.

Used papers from the Prima Odyssey collection. Photo turner by 7-gypsie, chipboard letters by American Craft, flowers by prima (stack them up).

Other supplies, mini letter stickers by MM, stamp by Fancy Pants, brad by paper studio, cardstock by bazzill and buttons unknown.

Just a simple one of my youngest daughter back in 1995. Really love her beautiful smile on this picture.

Used papers from the Prima Odyssey collection, the photo corners are also included with this pack in a die cut sheet of 12 x12. Prima flowers (I dotted around the flowers to make them stand out more), ribbon by Lil Davis and chipboard by Scienic Route.

Other supplies used zig marker and bazzill white cardstock.

Come take the challenge!

Ok....get over here and take my first challenge!!! Big prizes!

Just Paint It!

When I discovered paint, I discovered the endless possibilities of my supplies. With paint, it doesn't matter what color alphabet I buy, or what color my chipboard embellishments are in the box. If I need a different color, I simply paint it! For me, it makes more since to invest in a good supply of paint--including lots of colors instead of buying one chipboard alphabet in every color. For instance, when I decided to do this layout about my favorite color, I wanted all the elements to be some shade of purple. Problem was, I didn't have the right letters in that shade. So I took some blue and red chipboard letters and painted them purple. And when I decided I wanted to use the mesh on the page, I knew it would need paint since it was bright red!
I often use paint for acrylic accents as well. By painting the back of these letters, I created the look of ready made blue acrylic letters.
And by painting the heart on this layout, I created the look of a ready made red acrylic heart.
Use paint to modify any of your supplies--the colors we use aren't always what's sold at the store, but you can customize any of your embellishments to fit your layout perfectly!

Rockin the Scenic Route

Boy I am on FIYAH! When I get a set of papers that i LOVE i just can't pull myself away from it. 3 layouts in one night....
All paper in this post is from the fantabulous Scenic Route Laurel Collection.

With this layout I wanted something a little different. I put the journaling underneath a "door" and it is just random facts about me at 30. (weight, size, likes, dislikes)
I chose not to put a picture on this one because I plan on making this a 2 page spread which will have LOTS of pics from the age 30.

For this layout i also used
Queen and company felt ribbon that i cut in half down the middle and stapled it to my page with a red staple with the fastenator. In the middle of some of the flowers on the ribbon i used SEI brads
The title is American Crafts Foam Thickers in Root beer outlined with a white American Crafts Galaxy Marker.
*HINT* the galaxy marker is the only marker that will work without smudge on the foam thickers. It is a paint like consistency.

For this layout Laurel collection pp is used as well as Cosmo Cricket
buck naked buttons and more chipboard. I painted it with MM paint as well as MM paint around the photo. The journaling is MM tiny alpha white sticker and the ribbon is Basic Grey Lily Kate collection and chipboard letters are Lil Davis

again the SR laurel pp in the strips along the side and bottom. I broke out the PrimaPressed N Petals and stickled them up in Lime Green and Orange. The photo mat was embossed with my cuttlebug.

Stickles is my newest buddy. I am using that stuff on EVERYTHING. My kids better be careful or i will stickle them as well.

Happy Hump Day!

Sneak Peek...

...Of the new Daisy D's fall lines. Oooh Ahhh! I'm very intrigued by the tape rub on runners (last page). The first 3 sets of paper are calling my name and the buttons, flowers and ribbon are of course an all time favorite of mine. Chipboard is also super cute! Give me some feedback and your thoughts!

My babies

I have not really delved into my baby pictures for a long time so here comes one. This was done with the Crate Paper Crush kit (my favorite). I also used the Bazzil papers from the Scenic Route Metropolis set. I inked the edges with some ranger ink. Then I used the vellum glue dots to glue down my Flair saying onto my blue Bazzil paper. I used some 7 gypsies rub on's for the corners and then I cut out some hearts from some extra paper, put some eyelets through them and tied a knot with the matching Crate ribbon.

Thar be treasure in these parts...

So in kindergarten this year Jacob learned about the
"treasure chest" system. The best helper in his class for the day would get to pick out one prize. So this summer we are getting a treasure chest for when we play school or for the end of the day picking up.
We used a Maya Road tin, rusty pickle "boots n bones" paper, black ric rac and lots of mod podge! This was only my second go around with the stuff and it's fun, but I'm still perfecting my de-bubbling techniques. Anyway....the kids love it!! I went to Wishing Well and spent 15$ on prizes that should last most of the summer.

Flossy Bossy

This is Melana's Nickname.

Bazzill big scallopped cardstock was used ontop of SU cardstock.
I added lots and lots of buttons from all of the foo-a-la collections.
I doodled around the buttons and scallops with AC slick writers.
I added a prima flower in the middle of the pictures with a big brad. In the middle of the brad i used some AC rub on's in mini flowers. "Flossy" is MM velvet letter stickers with di=oodling on them as well. "Bossy" is doodlebug tab letter stickers. The chipboard frame is from SU's on board simon set.
My arrow is the little arrow cut from a piece of scrap from the Scenic Route Laurel Collection

You can find the foof-a-la button collection I used here

Whateverr

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This layout used DreamStreet Papers. I distressed the pressed petal chipboard letters and added the arrows from the Sassafrass Lass Punctuation Set inked with Ranger ink in Vintage Photo.

buds

I LOVE this photo of my son and his friend. I took it on opening day of t-ball this year. So while it may look very "me", I actually stepped out of my box a bit and painted the chipboard! Never have I painted before on a LO, so this was a bit adventurous for me! Not only that, my green was to yellow, so I even mixed it with some brown to get it muted out a bit. So now of course I'm obsessed with painting!! Question---which paint do you guys recommend out of these 2, MM or Lil' Davis? I HAVE to order some to carry in the store now! Give me your thoughts.

So for this little layout (8x8) I used the "Cest La Vie" line from MME. As you know by now I OBSESSED with it! I used a tiny Heidi Swapp star next to the BasicGrey mini monos, which I of course painted. Up top I used the MME sticker borders with SEI buttons in between. I also inked the paper edges with some ranger distress ink.

And I totally lifted this from Ashley's LO.....thanks for the inspiration!!

Self Discovery

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I used Scenic Route's Laurel collection with SEI Pastel Rhinestone brads in the center of Bazzill flowers. The chipboard is Lil Davis. I used the Fine Line a glue you can write with to adhere my chipboards. (I LOVE THIS GLUE)
The pink cardstock is Stampin Up! punched with the Spiral Tab punch.

Note: If you click the tab punch link you will have to "zoom out to see the picture"

Don't Stop Growing...

This is my entry for the one little word challenge this time. The word is STOP. I used the MME "oui oui" set again. LOVE this paper! I also used Heidi Swapp, Scenic Route and WeRMemory Keepers chipboard letter. A Heidi Swapp clock is used for the o in stop. Then I used the Sassafras lass stamps and cut around them for my final saying. I also inked all the edges with Ranger ink to highlight them.
